What’s wrong with the above picture? My handsome son Jack holding “Chuckie” from Rugrats? His feet on the dashboard? The intense, distracted look on Jack’s face?
Well, according to many of you who have observed excerpts of our upcoming public television documentary on You Tube -- what’s wrong with this image, and most from my in-car Jack conversations, is that my son is NOT wearing a seatbelt.
For reasons that have not been totally explained (I assume it’s a sensory issue), Jack has major problems with the shoulder belt portion of the restraint.
I’ve checked with our local police. We are not breaking the law; and the lack of shoulder belt adds virtually no danger to our motoring since my car is equipped with a passenger side airbag.
